Meet Jane!

Jane hails from the Chicagoland area. From a young age, Jane has always been active. She was always outside running, hiking, bike riding, rollerblading, playing wall tennis, etc. In 1988 Jane started running road races, from the mile to the marathon. She has completed eight marathons, and numerous 5K, 10K, 5 Mile, 10 Mile and Half-Marathon races. She was structuring workouts at the gym for herself and was always encouraging her less active family and friends to become more active and to get moving! She wanted to help others get involved in a fitness program whenever possible.

In 2000 she began working in a health club in the sales and accounting department but realized very quickly that what she really loved was working hands-on with people. She missed helping people set and reach their goals. In 2002 she received her personal trainer certification through ACE (American Council on Exercise).  She felt there was a real need for in-home personal training – finding the time and energy to get to a gym is usually the biggest challenge people face when starting and maintaining a fitness program. She has been leading small groups and working with individuals, in the comfort and convenience of their own home ever since. What makes Jane different from other trainers? She understands that every person is unique and has different needs and goals. There is no such thing as a “one size fits all” exercise program. The program you follow must be as natural to you as brushing your teeth or combing your hair.

In 2014, Jane received her master’s degree in Health and Physical Education and continued to use her knowledge and down-to-earth approach to help people determine and reach their health and fitness goals, from losing weight, to gaining strength, to being more functional and running that 5K.
In 2017 Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer. She truly believes that her active lifestyle really helped her through the surgeries and treatments as she struggled with this harsh new reality. She continued moving and getting outside as much as possible, and it wasn’t easy. She met new friends through shared experiences and soon after earned an additional credential as a Cancer Exercise Specialist, through CETI, the Cancer Exercise Training Institute. It has become a passion of hers to help those with cancer reconnect with their body and mind.

As an avid runner, outdoor enthusiast and nature lover, Jane brings her own passion and down-to-earth approach to the programs she designs. She will encourage, motivate, and walk side-by-side with you down the path to a healthier lifestyle. Movement will always be key. No matter what type it is, Movement Matters!

Jane currently resides in Martinsburg, WV with her husband and two cats. She loves to run and walk along the Potomac River on the C & O Canal towpath near her home.
